Photography by Chesser Street Studio – Australia :: Sonia Genevieve-Sherri Says “The view is spectacular because you no longer need to fit in.” One of my significant, most formative wounds happened when I was in the fourth grade. I was part of a click of peers, four besties who played together every lunch, went home together after school and told each other our life secrets about love and life. We all lived within walking distance and it presented in my little world an example of healthy relationships. Until one day when everything changed. As I reached the top of the street, my friends where not there waiting...
A Cut Above Brokenness

Excerpts From Her Forthcoming Book Entitled: A Cut Above Brokenness :: Sonia Genevieve-Sherri Says “Heaven Didn’t Make a Mistake When It Made Us…” I distinctly remember strolling down the streets of my childhood neighborhood staring up at the pale limestone imperial buildings towering over me, their shadows protecting me from the hot Mediterranean sun. I remember all the wonderful things most kids remember, like the jingle of the ice cream truck from far off and all of us scrambling to find some coins to get our favorite flavor. I recall long, endless summer nights dressing up and playing in the piazza, the...
YOU Are An Exquisite Work of ART

Sonia Genevieve-Sherri Says… “You Are Being Turned Into Something So Very Beautiful…” What if I told you that every single event that happened while you are alive was a predestined plan to mold you into the most amazing human being possible? What if all you could see was that each seeming problem was in fact a huge blessing in disguise, an opportunity for internal development that could not occur in any other way? Right now, you may be facing some great disappointments either in relationships, work, family members, money or your health. You like I, probably think that if you could just eliminate that problem and...

If My People Who Are Called…

Written by Cindy Lynne | Guest Contributor – Region Magazine :: The United States of America is in Grave Danger as We All Know… This is not a political party cry out. This is a God fearing, God honoring request for all Christians to unite across America before the election and cry out to God and let HIS will be done. This was done throughout the Bible by Israel and throughout the history of the United States of America. (The Light and the Glory by Peter Marshall & David Manuel, Miracles in America by Bill Federer) We MUST repent. We MUST turn to God and implore His forgiveness and mercy, not to “make” God move, but...

Birthing of a Vision

First Baptist of Dallas is birthing a vision they’ve held since 1868. Dallas in the mid-1800s was one wild and reckless burg. Several Baptist churches were run out of town before eight women and three men formed our determined little congregation and put down roots in 1868. Our first building on Akard cost a whopping $6,000. We soon outgrew it. The cornerstone of the historic sanctuary where we worship today was laid in 1890. The campus now covers six city blocks. That definitely puts us in the category of large churches; however, one thing our members have been able to do through the past century and a half is maintain the feeling of a...
Always Remember…

We must remember every innocent victim, every brave rescuer and every brave hero, who died in honor. As the 11th year anniversary of the September 11th 2001 murderous terrorist attack arrives, certainly many people feel that the events of that day must never be forgotten. I personally hope in some way that in our 21st century where everything is expected yesterday, and it seems that many of our attention spans are often less than the length of a 30 minute sitcom or the length of a 140 character tweet. We will never… NEVERforget the cowardly and demonic acts that were perpetrated against our country, our freedoms and...
